Petals with Purpose

Updated: Mar 24

Driven by joy and a creative spirit, Birmingham-based florist Liza Overmyer is turning inspiration into vibrant, intentional designs.

No two days look the same for Liza Overmyer, but the unpredictability that comes with working with live goods is something she embraces with a calm sense of confidence. At just 23 years old and a recent graduate of Auburn University, she’s the newest—and likely youngest—creative to step into Birmingham’s vibrant floral community. Her studio, In Fiore, sits tucked away off the main strip in the quaint and cozy area of Homewood, where her dream of telling stories through flowers is taking deep root. Though she officially launched her business in May 2025, Liza has been on a path to entrepreneurship long before this. Growing up in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, she watched her mom frequently host gatherings in their family home. No matter the event—an engagement party, a baby shower, a casual family get-together, you name it—hosts pulled out all the stops, and each celebration was infused with warmth and intention. This is where her love of florals began, and that early exposure to Southern hospitality still shapes her work today...
